STATEMENT:
This continuing body of work draws on shapes seen and imagined in urban architectural spaces both interior and exterior. These provide a framework to explore how respective appearances of colour are influenced and altered by neighbouring hues. I am interested in the capacity of colour to generate both the illusion—and at times the sensation—of dimensional space within the limits of the painted surface. I seek to engage colour as an active material that constructs, destabilises, and continually reconfigures compositional space.
